A Merry Christmas to kin and friends from the Schlavers.
This mimeo greeting comes from the family room where Lassie and Mickey Mouse roam the TV screen, Paul sprawls, and a collection of Marcia's things is disturbing to David's sense of neatness. Marcia is now taking piano lessons, joining David in that department. The boys built up savings this summer by wearing out a family mower on customers' lawns. Companionship of genial Bill and Tom Peeters filled in many play hours. The boys have been growing in surprising fashion, David upward and Paul sideways, just like Mom and Dad. Marcia goes along in her merry up-early way, getting in her brothers' hair. Dad has often been busy riding planes on OA convention trips to Wyoming, Texas, Canada. He's still roaring like a Lion, making like a Toastmaster, besides meeting with the Village Board. David, thrilled by Ike's victory, finds life of a high school freshman filled with home work. Mother's ironing, lawn sprinkling, chauffeuring and "picking up" after guess who fills her hours in the new house, which she loves. And so we've managed to keep busy, fortunately healthy. We wish every- one the same good fortune in 1957.
