A Merry Christmas to all. And if this is late it's because we've been on the move. Yes the Schlavers have new address, 400 S. I-Oka Ave. Our old home of pleasant memories and the big yard at 302 N. Elmhurst was sold to the Covenant Church and we switched to a new ranch house on Dec. 13th. The boys left behind their baseball diamond and grave of Paul's Dilly the Duck. Dad was shorn of the four lots of grass to cut and mother all that upstairs work. Marcia thinks its strange to have upstairs and downstairs all on one floor but was happy to celebrate her 7th birthday on Dec. 15th in the house which the Hoglinds built. The new address is easy to find and we invite friends and relatives alike to the corner of Lincoln and I-Oka just off Route 83 near St. Raymond's Church. It's been quite a year with a trip to Estes Park and NOMDA convention for an enjoyable vacation last June. Paul toots a clarinet in the band now and he spends winter days worrying that the Cubs might trade off Hank Sauer. David relaxes at his beloved piano and plays the oboe in the school band. Recently, he won the school spelling championship and missed by a "g" from making the Daily News televised finals after sparring successfully for 21 rounds. Big event in Marcia's life was her first communion, the same week that Paul was confirmed. David looks forward to entering Notre Dame (high school) next fall. Mother is chauffer for the family's varied activities and the only one who can locate anything in our new home after our moving. Dad is rounding out first year of 4-year term on village bd. And so we stay a busy family, happy in health, rewarded in our friendships. As Marcia says, "May the Good Lord... bless you and keep you". And a Happy New Year to all.

Betty, Clarence, David, Paul, Marcia
